When the Dalgona coffee (whipped coffee) trend was out, I looked at the cute cups in longing— wanting a fun drink, but my dislike for the taste of coffee held me back from trying it. But Whipped Hot Chocolate... yes please! Presenting Dalgona Hot Chocolate— whipped up to a sweet fluffy texture set atop a glass of milk, I added some coconut flakes and shaved chocolate for a bit of an extra oomph to mine.
Dalgona Hot Chocolate Recipe
Ingredients:
1/4 cup hot chocolate mix
1/4 cup powdered sugar
½ cup heavy whipping cream
3/4 cup milk
Instructions:
Chill a metal mixing bowl in the refrigerator for 15 minutes
Pour your ingredients into the bowl. Using a hand mixer, mix on high speed until you have a whip cream like texture with stiff peaks
Pour your milk into a cup, you may heat it or leave it cold, whatever your preference is
Spoon the whipped hot chocolate mixture on top of your milk. Alternatively you can fill a piping bag with it and pipe it on top
optional: add coconut flakes and/or shaved chocolate. Noshejaan!
I used the extra bit to make a mini dessert.
Over cold milk. Worked great but I should have used a piping bag to make it look prettier.
